Pausing moments in time so they can last forever.

Welcome! I am Jaren Willis, a photographer based in Grand Rapids, MI who primarily focuses on weddings, family, couples, newborn, and maternity photos. The name “Selah” has a special place in my heart, when I was in elementary school I stumbled across the name in the book of Psalms. It is a biblical term as well as a musical term that means “to pause and reflect.” I loved it so much and wanted to use it for my future daughter. I have been blessed with two little boys, but I still love the name so much. So why not use it for something I love? The meaning of the name “Selah” is so fitting for the job itself. To pause and reflect on the people standing in front of me, and then to capture the beauty I see within the moment.

Aside from photography, I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and a good crime podcast. I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two little boys. One of my favorite things about this job, is the ability to notice the small and intimate moments between people, and photograph it. There’s something special about capturing emotions and feelings when no one is watching. Photography has always been something I have enjoyed, and I am so blessed to be doing my dream job.
